I was trying to find a place that was kid friendly and large enough to accommodate the birthday party we were throwing for my mother-in-law, and Outpost was a perfect fit. The staff was very sweet and helpful. The food was delicious. Best bread sticks I've ever had. I know where to go next time I'm feeling like I want pizza and bread sticks, OUTPOST PIZZA in John Day!!!! They sell some very cute signs, jewelry, trinkets, purses, home decor, and other miscellaneous items that make for great presents.
It was great to be able to walk from our hotel to The Outpost for dinner. The service was fast and friendly. The menu has a great variety of choices. I had one of their specialties, Alice Chicken, which was unique and very good. They have homemade ice cream and a whole variety of good deserts. Definitely a find.
This place is amazing. They have great pizza and beers, and the breakfast is great too. It is really affordable to eat here and the people are very friendly. We had some good talks here. A great place in John Day!
The waitresses that helped us were beyond excellent. They were fast and very friendly. The food was very delicious and came out relatively fast. The bacon double cheeseburger was absolutely delicious.
Myself and four other friends came through on a motorcycle trip Friday night. Kayla was working the bar by herself and it was pretty busy. She absolutely killed it!! Taking orders, bringing drinks and making sure all the customers were taken care of. We could tell she was rushing around but the entire time she was extremely friendly and in a great mood. She ended up closing the bar that night. The next morning we went in for breakfast at 745, and there she was again on the restaurant side taking care of the majority of the customers, rushing back and forth with a smile on her face and super friendly. Myself, as well as the rest of the group, commented to ourselves multiple times that she was kicking ass. Needless to say we were all very impressed with her service and her personality. After being stranded in the wilderness for a week on a honeymoon gone more right than I ever could've imagined, this was the first place we came to and got way more than we bargained for. Not only did we get exceptional pizza, but the kind waitstaff filled us in on the news and politics that had changed since we left (nothing new, apparently, just rioting in LA).
They open at 6 am. I had a number of meals there over the few days that I was in John Day. I enjoyed the food and the service was exceptional! Strongly recommend.
Gal made me a damn good pizza with a few extra toppings, forgot to tip, will get even up with her next time. Was well worth the extra money! Highly recommend.
